Bishopton FC in the Heart of Renfrewshire
A Village with a Proud Heritage
Bishopton is a thriving village in Renfrewshire with a rich past and a growing future. Once best known for its agricultural roots and later the large Royal Ordnance Factory that employed thousands during the Second World War, the area has since evolved into a vibrant residential community. New developments such as Dargavel Village have brought fresh energy and families to the area, creating a perfect setting for a forward-thinking, community-focused football club.
Bishopton Football Club was established in 2013 from the merger of several teams in the village. The aim of the club is to provide accessible, inclusive football for the people of Bishopton and the surrounding area.
From the very beginning, the club has been committed to creating opportunities for everyone — young players taking their first steps in the game, adults wanting to compete, and families looking for a welcoming sporting community.
Today the club has grown to include multiple teams across youth, men’s and women’s football, all supported by dedicated coaches and volunteers.
We’re proud to have earned the Scottish FA Quality Mark Silver Award, a recognition of our high standards in player development, coaching, safeguarding, club governance and community impact.
Our Home
Our home ground is the Bishopton Playing Fields on Newton Road, Bishopton (PA7 5JP). Conveniently located near Bishopton train station, it provides easy access for players and visitors while giving the club a true local heart. Our pitches and facilities continue to improve year on year thanks to the hard work of volunteers and support from the community.
Competitive Football & Development
Bishopton FC offers football for all — from grassroots youth sessions to competitive senior squads.
Youth Football
A safe, fun and supportive environment for players to learn, grow and enjoy the game.
Competitive Squads
Opportunities for players who want to challenge themselves and play at higher levels.
Women & Girls Football
Our rapidly growing Girls’ Academy has become one of the club’s proudest achievements, giving young female players a clear pathway in the game.
Adult Football
Our men’s and women’s senior teams compete in regional leagues, representing Bishopton with pride.
We believe football is more than winning matches — it’s about developing skills, confidence, teamwork and friendships that last well beyond the pitch.
