The 2025/26 season will be remembered as a historic one for Bishopton Ladies after securing promotion to the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One for the 2026/27 season.
Promotion is a reward for the hard work, commitment and dedication shown by the players, coaching staff and volunteers throughout the campaign. Competing in a challenging league, the squad consistently demonstrated the determination, togetherness and quality required to earn their place at the next level. The achievement was confirmed through the promotion play-off process, securing Bishopton Ladies a place in League One next season.
While promotion is a fantastic achievement in its own right, it also represents another important step forward in the growth of the women’s and girls’ game at Bishopton FC.
Over recent years, the club has continued to invest in creating opportunities for female players of all ages, building a pathway that allows players to develop, compete and enjoy football within a positive and ambitious environment. The success of the Ladies team provides further inspiration for the next generation of players currently progressing through our girls’ section.
This season has also seen a number of players connected to Bishopton’s girls’ pathway progress into academy environments, highlighting the strength of player development taking place across the club. Together with the Ladies team’s promotion, these achievements demonstrate the exciting progress being made throughout the women’s and girls’ side of Bishopton FC.
Promotion to League One is a milestone worth celebrating, but it is also a foundation for the future. The challenge now is to build on this success and continue raising standards both on and off the pitch.
Congratulations to everyone involved with Bishopton Ladies on a fantastic achievement.
The entire club is proud of what has been accomplished, and we look forward to supporting the team as they prepare for life in the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One.
